For those of you who don’t already know I am happy to share with you that I got a new job, which will begin this week. Truth be told the ONLY reason I am leaving my current job is that I have working under (temporarily – ha ha) the spawn of Satan for far too long, and I refuse to subject my unborn child to all the unnecessary stress hormones of working for the Beast. Therefore, I am moving on. I was lucky enough to get a three-quarter time job (yeah because it will give me more nap time) doing reference and instruction – what I love to do, and why I got a Master’s degree.
Before I leave my current position I would like it known that I don’t hate this job or this place – merely the person who has been my “supervisor” for far too long. I LOVE working with the faculty. Could there be a better group of people than I’ve found in the journalism department? I think not! Over the years we’ve become friends, and I will miss the constant humor and brains of my journalism friends. Not only do they all possess rapier wit, but there is a Pulitzer Prize finalist among them as well…I also love working with my library colleagues, who are diverse bunch of people in terms of skills and personality. It has been so nice to work in a lively place…Of course this job was also where I met my husband, which is a last but certainly not least statement.
So as my time at my current place of employment draws nigh I reflect on my time here with thoughtfulness, satisfaction, and some sadness. Nevertheless, I look forward to this new chapter (ha ha – see what I did there?) in my life with much optimism and circumspection. Fare thee well private college!
Also, I can’t help but read “The Beast” as an Angel allusion.
“The Beast.” Too perfect. Best of luck with the new job and even more so with the baby!
Thanks! I look forward to catching up with you in person.
Ok, kiddo…where is your new job….
I’ll send you an e-mail and tell you.
Fair thee well is right
We are over the moon for you with all of the newness coming in your life.
Thanks!!
